Thankfully I live fairly close as there is not one of their wines I don’t like. I brought a friend from Alberta who was staying with me and she ended up having a case shipped back.
The worst wine in the valley and it's not even close. Don't get me wrong-lovely people and wonderful salesmanship, but I want to taste and buy real wine, not novelty acts.
Just did my first weekend of winery tours over the Thanksgiving long weekend.
Silver Sage BY FAR was my favourite winery of the 14 wineries that we visited. The lady behind the tasting counter was knowledgeable, funny and she really makes the tasting an experience to remember.
They also don't use sulphites in their wine, and you can really taste the difference (and if you're sensitive to sulphites like me, it's a great thing). My two faves were the 2010 Sage Grand Reserve (it's a Gewurztraminer that tastes of a hint of sage) and the The Flame dessert wine. If you like SPICY SPICY SPICY then you'll love the The Flame that actually contains a hot pepper right in the bottle.
If you're going up there, make sure that Silver Sage is included on your tour - in fact, I wish I'd started at that winery. I know I'll be back to get more wine next year.
