The Olive Press

I ate there about 6 months ago and was not impressed with the food at all, it did not taste fresh -more like microwave or frozen food . The bread they give as an appetizer was not warm and was hard. The restaurant/atmosphere was nice, but the food wasn't.

Went on Halloween figuring no wait but it was still pretty busy. I had never had the patience to wait before. The menu reads a lot better than it eats. The calamari was next to inedible, but the entrees were certainly better than your average roadhouse and quite reasonably priced. The server was young and inexperienced - very much a surprise to me given how busy the restaurant always seem to be. It was a reasonable experience for the money. The dining room is very pretty, but the din from the hard floors and low ceiling was nearly unbearable at a table in the middle. Perhaps the booth seating would have been quieter. Based on this visit, I will give them another try.

Great atmosphere. Staff were friendly and attentive. The menu had lots of options. Food was fresh and very yummy! I look forward to my next visit!

Just had to stick my oar in - recent reviews condemning this place were harsh. Service was fine - at least staff feigned being excited that we were there, unlike the majority of casual-dining places. Not the best I've ever had, but certainly not the worst. Comparing their lasagna to fast-food chain's only shows that you showed poor judgement in ordering lasagna at a fast-food pizza parlour... Lastly, if, as a reviewer, you are going to choose to dump on a place, make sure that you don't immediately review a place similar to the one you're ripping on - it just looks like you either work at the one you like, or you have family/friends that do. FYI: if you start basing your like/dislike of a restaurant by the exterior, you are: a) going to be disappointed, a lot b) miss a whole bunch of fantastic, hole-in-the-wall restaurants Its my one of my pet peeves with online reviews - what's to stop a restaurant owner and/or staff from tearing apart the competition on sites like this? I digress.

Tonight i had the great experiance of dinning at this new italian restaraunt called the olive press. I came in with my wife and another couple, we were very impressed with the hostess and how she handled our presence as we walked in the door. We were then taken to our seats and shown where the washrooms were before we got to our table, very cool, most places you have to ask or you have to go looking around like a chicken with its head cut off... All of us really enjoyed the food both apps and entree's, also our server was very informative with the menu and had no delay with any of our question which is always a bonus.... Prices were worth our experiance at the olive press and we are coming back again soon without a question, so thank you olive press and we ill be seeing you in the near future
