Baranga's On The Beach

I've only been to this restaurant a couple of times but there is one consistency. The service is atrocious. I've never seen a wait staff that is so lazy and inattentive as they are here. We had appetizers and drinks. Although it was later in the evening we had called ahead to ensure the kitchen was still open and forewarn about the party size. We got seated and an initial order in. Then the waitstaff disappeared and could be seen gathered by the bar talking instead of looking after their tables. It took more than 30 minutes for someone to come by the table and that was flagging down a different waiter. It's a shame too, because the food is pretty decent and the location is excellent in the summer. If they only would get their waitstaff off their butts this place would be pretty good.

The service still suks We went there a few years ago and it seems some things don't change, the service still suks. The waitress, Emily, was very inattentive and could only take care of one table at a time. I see by other reviews that they need to train their staff more in the little things that make all the difference. Too bad because it is a great location and the menu seem good too, but it will be another few years before we return.

Bad for breakfast

Took my husband for breakfast for his birthday. Big mistake, the omellet came out greasy as were the potatoes. The fruit looked a little old so I didn't want to try it. I am not sure what they did for the peppers and onions in the egg but it had a very wet and bland taste as well. The bacon was very dry and hard. My husbands poached eggs tasted of vinegar that they obviously used in the pot to keep the eggs together while poaching. Nothing could be blamed on being busy because we were the only ones there. The server was fine and had asked if everything was okay. I did tell her the meal was greasy but they did not offer any compensation at all. The response was "okay". It was a very expensive and disappointing meal. I would never recomment this as a place for breakfast. The one good comment I can make is the view is beautiful.

great spot

had a great time at barangas again this weekend. visited about 4 times this summer. overall its been good but this last visit was fantastic. the sevice was great and all the food was perfect. the kids love to run around on the beach and it gives us time to relax and have a drink while enjoying the view.

Poor Service

I visited the restaurant because of the location, it is very nice, however, we had to leave because of poor service. We went for brakfast and got a table with a nice view of the water. The waitress did not come for 1/2 hr and we noticed that only two staff were serving about 15 tables. After the wait, the waitress asked whether we were given menus and indicated that it was someone else's job. We were served coffee and juice which took another 1/2 hr. Milk and sugar never arrived in spite of several requests. It was funny to watch guests walking up and down picking up milk and sugar from other tables. We noticed that a number guests who arrived before us were not served. At this point, I calculated the cost for the coffee and juice we ordered, left the cash on the table & left. Will never visit this place again. Note to the owner: If you are understaffed, either inform the guests at arrival or only accpet through reservation. You are better off closing for a session rather than keeping it open.
