Won't be back

I've been to this location several times but my most recent, and final visit, was this past Friday. The restaurant was moderately busy.. ie lots of tables still available and no wait to get seated, however the staff were all complaining that they were so busy. We were never offered water, brought cutlery or the chips and salsa - as they had done in the past. Instead 40 minutes in we had to ask for the chips and salsa. We were attended to approx 10 minutes after we arrived for drinks which were brought to us in a normal waiting time however it all fell apart after that. We ordered an appetizer, followed by fajitas. For whatever reason (short staffed I'm guessing) this process took a full two hours. We were hoping to get in and out. At one point a whiney staff member approached us (she may have been the manager?) and told us they were SO busy that night. We both looked around. Many empty tables littered with dishes and uneaten food were just left as is while the staff scuttled around. A gentelman we met on the way out when we were paying said he waited at the bar for 10 minutes before anyone even noticed him, they brought him a menu and never returned... that was 30 minutes later. He was leaving. The other person I was with asked the staff if there was anything they could do to compensate us on the bill for the extrodinarily long wait and only so-so service (we rarely saw the server and were never offered water, desert menu, coffee etc). She grumbled something about "Well they didn't have to wait any longer than anyone else" to our server within full earshot of us. Wow. That's amazing customer service! She took $2 off our $54.00 tab. Hmmmm. The food was only so-so and after the two hours of waiting in an atmosphere of dirty tables that were just left like that (many of them littered with dirty dishes and half eaten meals) I was hoping for a little something more than $2 off, and hey.. perhaps a "sorry for the wait" instead of the "well I told you we were busy" might have been nice. I guess they figure that they have the market cornered on Mexican food in Perth so they don't need to try. Won't be back and definitely won't recommend. My friends will be hearing about this too. Good luck to them!

Ugh

Yes, the service was okay, but nothing outstanding. The side patio is absolutely gross - spiders and dirt everywhere - and sticky menus. Gross. I ate my food because I was very hungry, but not with appetite, and definitely not with pleasure. The ambiance, or rather, lack thereof, really sunk this dining experience. The whole place needs a good scrub. Nasty.

We used to dine here often but had not in several...

We used to dine here often but had not in several months. We returned hoping to order some of our old favorites but when we got our food, we found that while prices have gone up, portions are much smaller than they used to be, and the food over all just wasn't as good. Service however was great, our waitress was super friendly.

Was seated very quickly on the patio. Service was very quick. Food was served hot. The only draw back was that being seated on the far end of the patio once the sun set there was no light at all. The needed a few more lights. Maybe was due to the rather warm evening for that time of year and not expecting to people to be dining outside so late.

Of course, it was the eleventh hour when I called and tried to make an evening reservation on Valentine’s Day. And, of course, like everyone else they were completely booked but they did call me back and I was so happy that they could squeeze us in. We enjoyed the best meal we could have hoped for. The house red (forget the varietal) was so perfectly pared with the shrimp appetizer, Gamberi Di Amaretto. And the chardonnay was lovely with the escargots. Our entrees were equally delicious and in spite of the fact that it was a very busy evening for Napoli’s, the food arrived at our table fresh and hot and the service was perfect. Water glasses were always topped up and we were never left unattended for long. The servers were very friendly and approachable and it all made for a fantastic dining experience. We also didn’t feel over-crowded in this ‘full-to-capacity’ restaurant. Our table provided plenty of elbow room and the table conversation was easy to hear in spite of people. We were very comfortable and happy to be enjoying the wonderful atmosphere. We can’t wait to have dinner at Napoli’s again. Lire plus
